Hungry Aphrodite in Lanzarote – Part 2

You know it was a good meal when the last bite is just as enjoyable as the first. We had a couple of special meals like this on our Canarian holiday…so special that I am dedicating a whole blog post to my two favourite Lanzarote restaurants – Romantica and La Chalanita.
As the name suggests, Romantica attracts couples visiting Lanzarote for a romantic getaway. We strolled in with little R and may have ruined romance for many that evening – whoops! 😉
Romantica boasts spectacular views and a brilliant fusion menu created by Colombian chefs Jonathan and Johanna who started the restaurant 3 years ago.
I couldn’t get enough of the crepes with scallops and mushrooms in lobster cream sauce. The dish was wiped clean in no time. Amazing.
The steamed sea bass was the best I’ve ever had. The quality of the fish was incredible – so fresh and delicate.
Our main meal at Romantica was so good that it would have been wrong not to try dessert. Triple chocolate tart it was….and it was yum!
We had another beautiful meal at La Chalanita, also on Playa Blanca. The entrance to La Chalanita is next to a gelato shop and easy to miss. La Chalanita is tiny but the seafood served here is simply superb.
Check out the size of these mussels in marinara sauce – melt-in-your-mouth GOOD!
The platter of grilled prawns was superb and I wish I had taken a photo. Major blogger fail!
I had to order the fish fillet in saffron sauce – sounded too good to miss. The fish was excellent and although I would have liked more saffron, the side of Canarian potatoes, vegetables and mojo sauce was brilliant!
Romantica and La Chalanita are restaurants I would recommend in a heartbeat to anyone visiting Playa Blanca. Flawless service, beautiful food and gorgeous views.
As you can tell, we had a lovely holiday and would love to go back and do it all over again. However, it is now time to *try* and get back on track after the big Lanzarote binge!! 😉
By the way, if you missed Part 1, it was all about tapas and sangria – you can read it here! http://www.hungryaphrodite.com/hungry-aphrodite-in-lanzarote-part-1/😉
Until next time…
