Dubai Diaries

If you are following me on Instagram, you will know that I have just returned from a fabulous trip to sunny Dubai.
Dubai has been on my travel bucket list for a while now and given that this was my first experience of the Middle East, I was beyond excited. As you may know, I am also obsessed with food from this part of the world and simply couldn’t wait to be let loose in the land of mezze and shisha. 🙂
We were in Dubai for one of our dearest friend’s 40th birthday celebrations held over 3 days in Dubai’s best night spots. It was a crazy whirlwind holiday and although much of it is a champagne-induced haze, there are some fabulous foodie highlights to share with you all.
Located in the Dubai Mall with a direct view of the fountains and Burj Khalifa, Wafi Gourmet serves up one of the best Mezze platters I have ever had. I actually considered going back here the next day as it was so good. I’m still dreaming about the food and the fresh watermelon juice – so yum!
A visit to Chikalicious, my friend Maansi’s new dessert bar in Jumeirah was high on my list especially after the amount of time I’ve spent salivating over the famous ‘doughssants’ on Instagram!
Chikalicious is a dessert bar from NYC now open in The Village Mall, Jumeirah serving up delicious brunch, desserts, cakes and their signature doughssants in a range of flavours. The Nutella Doughssant had my name written all over it and was everything I imagined it to be. The Kadak Chai (spiced Indian tea) was probably one of the best I’ve had outside India.
Located in the beautiful Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel in the Palms, Al Nafoorah was without a doubt, my favourite meal in Dubai. The opulent decor, food and shisha were simply outstanding.
Thanks to the wine and shisha flowing through dinner, I was temporarily incapacitated and did not take any pictures of my divine meal…Major blogger fail!
You will just have to take my word for it – the mezze, the lamb grill, and the double apple shisha – the best EVER!
We were in Dubai for our friend Chintan’s (aka Mr. Prefunc) 40th birthday festivities so as you can imagine, most of our time was spent living it up in some of Dubai’s best night spots that included Sass Cafe, Music Hall and the famous Blue Marlin beach club from Ibiza.
Yes, we partied like rockstars over 3 consecutive nights… And, I made it back in one piece! Phew! 😉
4 days is simply not enough for Dubai and I can’t wait to go back again soon – already planning my next trip. 🙂
