Makeup You Can Sleep In?

Quite a claim, isn’t it? I thought the same when I first read bareMinerals bold statement! Of course, I was instantly curious!

bareMinerals Get Started

bareMinerals was launched in the United States  in 1995. They have come a long way since and bareMinerals products are now available all over the world. Their makeup is made out of natural minerals with no chemicals, preservatives, dyes, oils or perfumes. bareMinerals boasts that their ingredients are so kind and gentle to the skin that one can even sleep with makeup on!

I first heard about bareMinerals a few years ago when I asked my good friend (who has seemingly flawless skin) which foundation she used. I was tempted to try it then but slightly wary of messing about with powdered minerals and brushes on a daily basis. For some reason, liquids and cream compacts seemed so much easier!

I was on the prowl for new foundation recently and decided to give bareMinerals a go. My skin has become quite sensitive in the past year and I have been trying to make a switch to more natural products. So, off I went to the closest bareMinerals makeup counter for a trial!

The makeup consultant applied all of the products in the bareMinerals Get Started Kit and showed me the correct technique to buff the powder into my skin. My skin wasn’t looking it’s best when I walked in to the store and I could see significant improvements with each application. The makeup felt and looked natural and I didn’t feel weighed down by various layers of products. It felt light and fresh, and very different to the way my old cream compacts and liquids made me feel.

The bareMinerals Get Started Kit costs £50 and includes the READY SPF 20 pressed powder foundation, Prime Time Foundation Primer, Warmth All Over Face Colour, Mineral Veil finishing powder and 3 makeup brushes. The foundation and one makeup brush are £25 each when purchased separately so going with the kit was a no brainer.

I’m still getting used to the idea of a powder foundation but am definitely enjoying the look and feel of this product. I recently read an excellent review of bareMinerals lipsticks and can’t wait to try them soon!

Have you used bareMinerals before? What is your favourite bareMinerals product?
